The accessible health hotel Mar y Sol is located in the southwest of Tenerife, Canary Islands. Three further companies are associated with the hotel: The Centre for Prevention and Rehabilitation Teralava, the Diving Centre Mar y Sol Aqua sport and the Disability Service Station LeRo

Tenerife offers a spring-time weather all year round perfect for all kind of sports and entertainment. The architecture of Mar y Sol comprises a Spanish-style construction, built on two and three levels accessible through-out by lifts. The few steps you come across within the complex can be avoided using ramps.

Access

Disabled facilities include bathrooms with wheel-in showers, assisted shower chair and manual shower chair available. Level access around resort, there are accessible taxis to the local town of Los Cristianos (free of charge). The swimming pool has a hoist.

Accommodation

There are 135 accessible bedrooms with en-suite. Accommodation is available in two standards, one-bedroom-apartments sleep up to four people with twin beds plus a living area containing twin 'rollaway' sofa beds. Bathroom with wheel-in shower and/or bath (no grab rails). Small integral kitchenette Balcony or patio area. Superior apartments are newly built, fully accessible one bedroom apts. with twin beds plus a living area containing twin 'rollaway' sofa beds. Bathroom with wheel-in shower and grab rails at WC. Small integral kitchen. Balcony or patio area. Superior apartments have more grab rails in the bathroom and are more spacious than standard accommodations.

Facilities

Two swimming pools and one therapy pool. The water temperature of the heated pool is kept at 32°C throughout the whole year. The second swimming pool has a water temp between 22°C and 25°C, depending on the season and is especially popular. Both pools have a hoist. Guests can also join in exciting activities off the such as Parasailing, Diving, Helicopter flights, Guided horse riding...

Therapy & Cure 

The hotel has its own Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre, Teralava. This centre unites traditional with modern medicine through the combination of classical, therapeutic approaches with holistic, alternative methods. The unique therapy applications and personal assistance headed by qualified therapists from Teralava, help to harmonize and stabilize body and soul.
